A FACADE SYSTEM IS MADE UP BY THE STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS THAT PROVIDE LATERAL AND VERTICAL RESISTANCE TO WIND AND OTHER ACTIONS, ALONG WITH STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS IT NEEDS TO PROVIDE A BARRIER BETWEEN THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE ENIVORMENT. EACH MATERIAL SAMPLE TESTED IN MY EXPERIMENT WILL NEED TO ACHIEVE KEEPING UNWANTED SOUND OUT OF BUILDINGS AS WELL AS KEEPING SOUND INSIDE OF EACH INDIVIDUAL'S ROOMS. MY TESTING SYSTEM WILL STRONGLY DEPEND ON SURROUNDINGS I PLACE EACH MATERIAL IN. THE BOX MUST BE WELL INSULATED TO KEEP MY DATA CONTROLLED AND ACCURATE.

BUILDING ACOUSTICS MEASUREMENTS
1. MEASUREMENT OF DYNAMIC MATERIAL PROPERTIES USING ACOUSTICAL METHODS
-THIS CAN BE DONE BY DAMPING OF MATERIALS FOR RESILIENT LAYERS IN BUILDINGS
2.MEASUREMENT OF ACOUSTICALLY RELEVANT MATERIAL PROPERTIES
-THIS CAN BE DONE BY MEASURING THE FLOW RESISTANCE PER UNIT LENGTH OF SOUND ABSORBING MATERIAL
3. SOUND ABSORPTION COEFFICIENT OF MATERIALS IN THE CASE OF PERPENDICULAR SOUND INCIDENCE

Shanelle Nicole Reese

Shanelle Reese received her bachelors degree in architecture from
Florida A&M University and is currently studying architecture to
attain her masters degree at Tulane University. Her professional interests
focus on sustainable architecture along with the aesthesis of the design methods
and her current projects include designing affordable housing on Oretha Castle
Haley Blvd in New Orleans Louisiana. In addition, she served as the president for
two years in Alpha Rho Chi (professional fraternity) while receiving her
bachelors degree, and was honored with the Alpha Rho Chi Medal for
her contributions to her community.
